Wonderfully wild high mountain landscape combined with atmospheric color and very realistic reproduction of many small details. Starting from the fantastic painted sky, glides over the partly snow-covered mountain peaks of the viewer's gaze on the vegetation, the farmhouse and the rapids of the waterfall. This perfect oil painting is characterised by very sensitive, romantic ambience and amazing spatial dimension.

About the painter:
He studied studied from 1836 at the art academies in Leipzig, Dresden and Munich. Works in the possession of the Focke Museum and the Kunsthalle Bremen. He died in Düsseldorf on 3 March 1893.
